HELP:  What's wrong? I placed items in my shopping cart, but it comes up empty.

Did you accidentally select the "Empty Cart" or "Cancel Order" button (or link)?  Both will clear all items from your cart.

Did you complete the Check Out process already? Your cart is automatically cleared when you submit your order.

Assuming neither of the above is true, your browser "cookie" setting is the most likely reason.

As a privacy-conscious Internet user, you may have totally disabled "cookies" in your browser settings.  You need to enable them temporarily to shop in our store (and many other online stores as well).

Like most online shopping sites, our ecommerce software uses temporary "cookies" to keep track of your order details (items added to cart, etc.) while you are shopping.

Our cookies are strictly temporary; that is, they expire automatically after a period of shopping inactvity, or when you finish shopping and "Check Out", or when you "Empty Cart", whichever is sooner.

Unlike some web sites about which you may have heard cookie "horror stories", our cookies are used only to process your order. We value your privacy.  Select our Privacy Policy link on our store menus. We do not use cookies to collect unauthorized information about you for other purposes, like advertising, or tracing and/or reporting your browsing to third parties.  (You can learn more about cookies at How Stuff Works, as well as many other internet reference web sites you can find via the search engines.)

How to enable cookies temporarily.

These instructions apply to Internet Explorer Version 6 browser. Other browsers, and other Internet Explorer versions have similar settings. E.g., Netscape 7 has an "allow cookies for this site" setting; etc. Please consult your specific browser Help for instructions.

In Internet Explorer 6, the default "Medium" Privacy setting allows the type of cookies that we utilize.  You can adjust the Privacy setting in your browser temporarily, so you can shop online with us.  See the Tools menu > Internet Options > Privacy tab.

After enabling cookies, you may need to add the item(s) to your shopping cart again.

How to disable cookies

After completing your shopping session, you may want to restore your previous privacy settings.  Use the same browser menus you used to temporarily enable cookies to disable them.

How to delete cookies.

These instructions apply to Internet Explorer Version 6 browser. Other browsers and other Internet Explorer versions have similar settings. Please consult your specific browser Help for instructions.

Our cookies expire automatically as described above. If you prefer, you can use the Tools menu in your browser to delete cookies immediately.  See the Tools menu > Internet Options > General tab > Delete Cookies button.  (Note: the IE 6 browser Delete Cookies button is designed to delete all cookies, not just ours.)
